Urban Edge was formed in 2008 by Katie Watts after working for other theatre schools and having been in the performing arts industry as a professional Singer, Dancer and Actress for years since graduating from Masters Performing Arts College in 2000.

Katie uses the best teachers in their field to inspire and nurture the talents of children and teenagers helping them reach their goals and develop skills further.

Urban Edge involves children in after school activities from an early age, not only to keep children fit and off the streets by the time they reach their teenage years, but also by improving confidence and social skills.

We have two Elite Dance Crews (younger and older) that been entering and winning competitions for a number of years as well as performing at charity events.  Our older Elite Dance Crew were lucky enough to perform alongside Aaron Soul as backing dancers at the BBC Sports awards in 2011 but our proudest moments have been when Bella Penfold made the X-Factor Live Finals in 2018 and, of course, when Louisa Johnson won the show in 2015.
